Maybe it’s because I’m a designer and you’re not. Or are you? Typography (good typography) tends to give me the same chills as a shiny new sports car might give a car enthusiast. The best type is simple. And being able to look good, and tell a story all on it’s own, should be the goal. The type should enhance your project, not take away from the it.
Just one word typed properly, kerned and without effects. Can send me far over the designer’s edge. The “Wow-this-really-is-something-I’m-passionate-about!” edge. God help me!
